Our Challenge
Musical score writers David Ford and Phil Ryan had written a complete opera based on Georges Du Mauriers story “Trilby”. Our challenge was to package and create a brand that would act as a calling card for talent and collaborators, thus help fund the project by presenting the story in a contemporary and up-to-date way.
Our Idea
We updated the storyline, from the 1830’s to the future, changing the characters from musicians to computer programmers and their creation Trillb-e. From a slightly tired storyline a fresh and vibrant up-to-date production leapt out. Where mobile phones are frowned on in most theatres, we integrated it into a seamless experience for the audience which started before they even bought a ticket.
