Shopping Festival Characters

Our Challenge

We were tasked by Taobao to create impactful and effective marketing content for their annual Double 12 event with a focus on making “Life More Interesting”. Faced with over hundreds of thousands of SKUs in multiple categories, how do we effectively create a campaign that unifies and sells them under one umbrella theme?

Our Idea

We emphasised product personification, bringing products to life through a series of characters and dramas. The creative process involved creating 55 original characters and crafting hundreds of humorous scenarios for these characters. The 3D team focused on action, bringing personalised products to life.

The scriptwriter wrote hundred of jokes for the 55 characters, the 3D animators were tasked to animate numerous 15-second short plays to promote the National Taobao Festival. Various unique products were featured in these mini-dramas, resulting a highly successful and effective digital content to sell products.
