Metaverse City

Our Challenge

Taobao Life, boasting 400 million users on Taobao and 10 million daily users, centres on virtual images and interactive gameplay for high user engagement and brand marketing. For Taobao’s 4th anniversary, they invited us to design a new Metaverse theme. The challenge was to transform a 2D e-commerce marketplace into a more enchanting and immersive 3D metaverse to better represent the whimsical charm of Taobao Life.

Our Idea

The creative team took a bold move to deviate from the client’s original vision for the virtual world. Instead of a cold, tech-centric environment, they aimed for warmth and enthusiasm within the 3D world. Inspired by other metaverse aesthetics, we introduced vibrant colours to the white-dominated landscape. This “Land of Tomorrow” creates a welcoming garden-like atmosphere. The dopamine colour scheme combined with 4th-anniversary elements resulted in a unique design, successfully convincing the client and incorporating gameplay, such as spaceship launches.
